About Me
I am Nana (they/them).
I've helped founders and senior leads at startups and scale-ups turn limited resources and limitless ambition into projects and experiences that match their vision.
I treat every decision — be it creative, commercial, operational, or strategic — as a growth opportunity, and constantly tango between factors to ship the best results.
Here’s a breakdown of my official name, because symbols are important in meaning-making:
My last name Huang – literally translates to the colour yellow.
My first name are two separate words combined: “Huai – to harbour a thought or an idea deep in one’s heart,” followed by “Yu – the conjunction word meaning ‘and / &.’”
I guess that explains why I’m always curious and trying to connect the dots.
Background
I have a background in communication science. Before that, I briefly studied architecture.
This means I've done a fair amount of research into how information is exchanged and interpreted, and built team-based projects centred on spatial storytelling.
Some say traces of both disciplines can be found in my work, in how I balance style and substance.
Meanwhile, understanding of different methodologies and technical processes allows me to comfortably bridge between functions, aligning diverse teams and scattered priorities into shared goals.
Latest activies
Recently I've been reading short stories by Asimov and find myself thinking a lot about sci-fi fantasy video game lore.
I also started working on a picture book, something I’ve always wanted to do. So far it has nothing to do with sci-fi, but we’ll never know.
